Stop Window Washers Petition

To the city of Johannesburg council.

We the resident of Johannesburg are subjected to daily harassment at the intersections by window washers.

As we stop our vehicles at many intersections across Johannesburg we are rushed by a multitude of individuals either wanting to sell us goods or wanting to wash our windows.

The window washers have proven to be quite aggressive and intimidating.

If we refuse to allow them to wash our windows they spray us with soapy water , hurl abusive language at us and generally terrify us.

This practice has been going on now for many years, and we as residents are petrified of stopping at most intersections.

Johannesburg has become a dangerous place for us motorists and there have been reports of assaults and robberies at many intersection either from window washers or criminal elements at the intersection.

Therefore we the residents of Johannesburg hereby petition the city council of Johannesburg to enforce the bylaws and rid intersections of window washers or vendors or loiterers.
