Petition for the Total Ban on Fireworks in Johannesburg

Many residents in the city of Johannesburg, myself included, have animals as part of our households. Every year, during various public holidays and other festivities, we have to put up with hours of noise pollution in the form of fireworks.

Apart from the noise impact on us as human beings, our animals are subjected to this cruel torture and experience a lot of distress as a result. Many animals end up running away in fear or end up getting injured in their frantic attempts to escape the pain and fear caused by the noise from fireworks.

Therefore, we the residents of the City of Johannesburg hereby petition the city council of Johannesburg to implement a total ban on Fireworks in the city.
