Implementation of the Building laws/illegal Businesses Petition

As investors in our properties, we the residents of ward 66, are being subjected to overcrowded houses in our ward, with people buying houses to turn them into room farms, the building of illegal buildings without plans or council approvals taking place in the ward and the operating of businesses without licenses taking place.

These activities are having a huge negative effect on ratepayers that are currently paying inflated rates, because this uncontrolled behavior is overloading the old and vulnerable infrastructure, that has never been upgraded.

It's creating urban decay, and it's currently devaluating our property values at a very fast rate. It is not fair that we paid inflated prices for our prized homes, just so that a few years down the line our properties are valued at far less than what we paid.

Therefore we the ratepayers of ward 66, hereby petition the city council of Johannesburg, to strongly implement its already existing current laws, that the city council protects the rate payers rights in order to safeguard their property investments and that the city council stops all this uncontrolled, illegal behavior from carrying on.
