Highland Road Petition

Highland road is a very long road in Kensington. It’s a very steep road that is being used by buses and for a quiet suburban road is somewhat quite busy and fast. This is a road that gets used by Malvern residents as a short cut and services a couple of high schools in the area.

We as residents have noticed a large amount of accidents in certain parts of this road. At some point the road crosses with another high volume road, Marathon Street in Kensington. Marathon Street does not have very clear visibility as it is in close proximity to a hill. Should a motor vehicle be speeding over the hill while a car is crossing, a collision will be impossible to avoid.

Therefore we the residents of upper Highland road petition the city for assistance in installing traffic lights or alternative 4 way stop street at the corner of Highland road and Marathon street in Kensington.
