Cumberland Road Calming Measure Petition

Cumberland road is a long road crossing Kensington from one end to another. This road runs paralell to Albertina Sisulo road, that acts as a main road from the inner city to the highway.
Because of the amount of traffic lights in Albertina Sisulo, traffic usually diverts to this road, as it only has one traffic light, therefore creating a perfect road for speedsters.

Cumberland road services three schools and therefore on a daily basis, there are hundreds of school kids in the area, going home and getting picked up. This road is a constant danger to these children and also home owners, due to motorists driving at excessive speeds and also due to certain blind spots in the road.

We the residents of this road and parents that have children attending the school in this road, hereby petition the city of Johannesburg, that traffic calming measures must be installed on this road, so that our children and our homes are safe from speeding motorists.
